SAFETY AND SECURITY COMMITTEE
The focus of this committee is to liaise with the Vancouver Police department and other applicable resources and agencies to make Mount Pleasant a safer and more inviting community. In the coming year the plan is to develop an enhanced emergency information distribution system, to facilitate communicate on a timely basis with our members.

MARKETING COMMITTEE
The focus of this committee is developing a new look and tag line for the BIA, upgrading and maintaining the web site, preparation of advertisements, determination of optimum media, generating positive publicity, membership liaison regarding co-op advertising opportunities.


  • Promotion of new tag line “Found Up the Hill” and look for the BIA
  • Promoting with the use of different media:
    • Updating of web site (www.mountpleasantbia.com) content
    • Advertising on newspapers and magazines
    • Advertising on other media: radio, billboard, posters, community TV, etc.

    Working with MPBIA members with co-op advertising
  • Publicity: working with the media
  • Crisis communication: mitigating adverse information about the BIA
  • Partnerships with civic and regional tourism initiatives
    • Determination of opportunities to enhance Tourism / visitors to our area
