Walking Tours
The Walking Tour of Mount Pleasant is comprised of 2 parts:
Tour 1
- of this tour begins at City Hall and explores the historic residential and commercial areas of Mount Pleasant. The time required is approximately 40 minutes.
Tour 2
- guides you along the approximate route of Brewery Creek. This creek was the original impetus for the development of Mount Pleasant. The tour begins near its mouth and ends at Tea Swamp Park. The time required is 30 minutes.
The Tours are designed to give the participant a sense of the history of the area.

Tour 1
1.City Hall
Address : 453 West 12th Avenue
In order to strengthen relations with newly annexed South Vancouver and Point Grey, City Hall was constructed in 1935-36 on the site of Strathcona Park.
2.410 West 12th Avenue
The house across from City Hall was built in 1909. If you continue along Yukon Street and east on 11th Avenue, you will see the "White House" at 2631-2633 Columbia Street. Built in 1908 and restored in the 1980s, it features bay windows and triple-columned porches.
3.Henry Bloomfield House
Address : 2532 Columbia Street
Some of the most elegant stained glass in the province was designed by Henry Bloomfield and Sons.
4.100 Block West 10th Avenue
By the early 1970s, this historic block was threatened by development. The Davis family undertook a massive commitment to restore the house that remained, and their efforts many other private intiatives.
5.The Cornerstone
Address : north-west corner of 10th Ave and Quebec St.
This buildings was originally constructed in 1909-10 as the Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church; in 1927 it became the Evangelistic Tabernacle. In 1994, it was converted into luxury condominiums.
6.Holy Trinity Ukranian and Greek Orthodox Church
The Church was built in 1948-1950, and in 1976 was designated a civic heritage building.
7.Lee Building
Address : 175 East Broadway
Built in 1912, the Lee Building was considered to be a daring venture during its construction as it was so far removed from the downtown. It was the tallest structure south of False Creek at the time.
8. Crosbie Block
Address : south-west corner of Main St and 8th Ave
This building, constructed in 1912, housed department stores for much of its history. F.W. Woolworth and Co. was the primary tenant from 1929 to 1994.
9. Goh Ballet Theatre
Address : 2349 Main Street
This building was built in 1912, as a branch of the Royal Bank. It has a twin building at 2247 Granville St.
10. Quebec Manor
Address : 101 East 7th Avenue
This decorative apartment block, built in 1912, features bay windows, wrought iron balconies, and a distinct pattern of red and yellow bricks.
11. Ashnola Apartments
Address : 203 East 6th Avenue
Built in 1912, the interior of this building features an attractive wooden arch.
12. 243 East 5th Avenue
Built in 1888, it is the oldest occupied house in Vancouver.

Tour 2
1.Native Indian Education Centre
Address : 285 East 5th Avenue
A relatively new building for Mount Pleasant, built in 1985, it was inspired by traditional Longhouses of Coastal Native communitites.
2.Brewery Creek Building
Address : 280 East 6th Avenue
Opened in 1887, the Vancouver Brewery was the largest of the local industries. The building was constructed in 1903 as one of several expansions to the brewery. It has been recently converted into artists live-work studios.
3.263 East 7th Avenue
Also the site of the Vancouver Brewery, constructed in the 1920s with high-beamed ceilings, simliar to the original Brewery building of 1892.
4. Western Front Lodge
Address : 208 East 8th Avenue
Built in 1922 as a Knights of Pythias Lodge.
5.Royal Canadian Legion
Address : 2655 Main Street
Constructed in 1955 by the War Memorial Cooperative, to serve as a setting for social functions of war veterans.
6.Wenonah Apartments
Address : 2703 Main Street
Many original storefront features can be seen in this 1915 apartment block.
7.Hertiage Hall
Address : 3102 Main Street
Built in 1915, as Postal Station C, this reinforced concrete structure features a stone and brick-facing. Other federal agencies made use of the building including the Department of Agriculture and the RCMP. It was designated a heritage site in 1974, and underwent extensive restoration in 1982.
